FAQ Friday PFYA

This is going to be a long one but hang in there! All this info is highly important to keep in mind when thinking about getting tattooed.

Is it VERY important to be well rested so please try to get a good night’s sleep as well as eat a well-balanced meal beforehand. If your tattoo appointment is early in the morning and you do not normally eat breakfast, please make an exception!

Prep the canvas by drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated as well as moisturize your skin leading up to your tattoo appointment. Wear clothing that is comfortable but not too valuable because it is a possibility that tattoo ink may get on your clothes. Please wear clothing that the artist can easily access the area you wish to have tattooed. You are more than welcome to bring a pillow and a blanket, or a sweatshirt. It can get cold in the shop! If you plan on bringing food or snacks, we do have a mini fridge in the lobby area for your convenience.

There will be paperwork for you to fill out so please try to arrive 10-15 minutes early to allow for that. You will need a government issued identification card or you will not be able to get tattooed. It can be a State ID, a Driver’s License, a Military ID, or a Passport as long as it is valid (not expired).

The artist will show you your tattoo design the day of your appointment (unless specified early viewing by your artist) and if there are any minor changes you would like to make please speak up, they will happily do that before applying the stencil. If you need to take a break at any point while getting tattooed, please let your artist know. It is okay to ask for a break, your body is going through an ordeal, and you will need to rest periodically!

Your artist will go over the healing process once your tattoo is finished. We have informative pamphlets, as well as aftercare ointment at the front desk for purchase. We accept most forms of payment except checks.

Tips for the artists are greatly appreciated but never expected!

Once you leave our shop, your tattoo is in YOUR hands. How it heals and looks when it is completely healed will be determined by how well you take care of it. Everyone’s body heals and reacts differently to being tattooed. If you have any questions or concerns during the healing process, we’ve got your back! Check back next Friday for the do’s and don’ts about healing!
